Children's Health Institute is a comprehensive biomedical research center that will focus specifically on the genetic, environmental, and behavioral factors in human growth and development with an emphasis on the prevention, treatment, and cure of childhood diseases.
Joseph Jingoli & Son, Inc. served as the project’s construction manager. The building has three floors of research labs and a transgenic vivarium. Biomedical research lab modules are flexible and serve by a linear equipment room, designed for shared equipment. The open concept of the laboratories allows researchers to circulate among the labs and each other easily.
In addition to unique procedure rooms, temperature spaces, and a darkroom, the Institute also has its own administrative and conference spaces. Also, a pediatric ambulatory care center and clinical research center are within the new building.
