A.C. Brigantine Connector Tunnel Drainage

Location

Atlantic City, New Jersey

The Atlantic City Connector project involved installing 5,000 feet of ductile iron storm drainage pipe ranging in size from 8” to 24”.

The work included installing a ductile iron pipe with mechanical joint fittings on an extensive support system, which was incorporated into a 5 to 7 ½ foot thick base slab for the tunnel. Each pipe and fitting was supported off of a working slab with a galvanized pipe stands. The storm drain piping was sandwiched between two layers of reinforcement mats and was tied off to the lower mat for anti-flotation
